Alyssa supports her clients with warmth, resourcefulness, and professionalism. Much of what guides Alyssa's practice and passion for therapy is the belief that healing can be achieved by connecting the mind and body. Alyssa is dedicated to help her clients strengthen self-understanding, acceptance, and compassion to build resiliency in managing life circumstances, so that they can build a life of meaning and value.

Welcome! I offer an integrative approach to psychotherapy for both individuals and couples. I treat a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma-related difficulties, grief and loss, and relationship struggles. I also have a keen interest in mood and personality disorders, more specifically borderline personality disorder. I facilitate DBT group therapy, and my clinical interventions draw from CBT, DBT, Attachment Theory, Somatic-based therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy and Gottman strategies in couples therapy.

As the co-director and a clinical supervisor at Shine, I also provide clinical supervision and training for intern and qualifying psychotherapists. I aim to foster a supportive environment for my supervisees, as well as providing a compassionate, caring, and safe environment for their clients to receive high-quality care and treatment they deserve. I value the process of getting to know my supervisees and interns on a deeper level, ensuring they feel secure and confident in their clinical skills.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the CRPO, affiliated with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and I obtained my Master's degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa in 2020.

Though my waitlist is closed for psychotherapy clients in both individual and couples counselling, I am happy to consult with qualifying and intern psychotherapists, and external consultation can be requested as an indirect means to work under my care.
